Our Beliefs
God
There is only one true God, Creator of heaven and earth, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 John 5:7)
Humanity
Men and women were created in the image of God. All humanity – Christ excluded – is sinful by both birth and action. We all deserve the penalty of our sin, which is physical and spiritual death for eternity.
(Genesis 1:26-30, Isaiah 6:5; Ephesians 2:1-22)
Eternity & Salvation
There will be a future and physical resurrection of the dead. Those who turn from sin in repentance and to Jesus in faith will be raised to eternal reward in Heaven. Those who do not turn from sin and to Jesus will be raised to eternal punishment in Hell. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ and repentance from sin that people can be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy.
(Genesis 3:15; John 10:28-29; Ephesians 1:7)
God The Father, God The Son, God The Holy Spirit
God the Father is an everlasting, infinite, perfect, and personal being who is the sovereign and rightful ruler of all that exists. The Father is perfect in holiness.
(Deuteronomy 32:6; 1 Chronicles 29:10; 1 Corinthians 8:6)
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who took on human flesh by being born of a virgin. He is both fully God and fully human. Jesus Christ died as a sacrificial substitute to pay the penalty for sin. Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will one day physically return.
(Psalms 22:7ff; John 1:1-18; Philippians 2:5-11)
The Holy Spirit is also fully God, eternally one with the Father and Son. He convicts and convinces the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He permanently indwells every believer in Christ – guiding them into all truth, giving them spiritual gifts, and empowering their holiness and witness to the gospel.
(Genesis 1:2; Isaiah 6:1-13; John 4:24)
The Bible
The Bible is God’s divine revelation of himself to man. These Scriptures are completely true, without error, authoritative, and sufficient.
(Deuteronomy 4:1-2; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2)
The Church
The church consists of all who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for their eternal salvation. The New Testament speaks of the church as the Body of Christ, which includes all the redeemed throughout all the ages – believers from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation.
(Matthew 16:15-19; Acts 2:41; Ephesians 1:22-23)
Church Ordinances
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience expressing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. It publicly acknowledges the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life with Christ as Lord.
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of Jesus and anticipate His second coming.
(Matthew 23:26-30; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12)
